Gym Manager & Trainer

If you had told me or anyone in my life in my earlier years that I would one day be a fitness coach you would have been laughed out of the room. I was the fat kid growing up, and always found myself faking illness and injury to get out of exercising in front of other people because I was self-conscious and embarrassed to always come in dead last. By age 18 if there was a diet I had tried it, including 7 summers spent at “fat camp.”

I walked through the doors of my first CrossFit class in 2013, terrified and weighing in at almost 300 pounds. It was there that I saw fitness can be challenging while still being fun, and that a welcoming, encouraging, and supportive fitness community does exist in the world. The feeling of “wow, my body has never been able to do this before and I just did that” was something I had never experienced before, and a decade+ of CrossFit later, I still let that feeling fuel my fire.

I began coaching in 2018 because I wanted to be the person and coach I wish I’d had all those difficult years growing up. As a coach, I know that I am usually not the fittest person in the room, but I know the difficulties that come with disordered eating, body dysmorphia, and the intimidation a sport like CrossFit can bring to others like me. It is my mission everyday to lead by example and show people that we all start somewhere, and if I can do CrossFit, anyone can do CrossFit.
